According to a study by Insper, this turnaround is due to the significant growth in the production of soybeans, corn and meat, combined with the adoption of advanced technologies and sustainable practices in the field. Rogério Teixeira de Melo, Senior Advisor for Carbon and Food Value Chain at UPL, highlights that the resilience of Brazilian producers has been fundamental to this progress, even in the face of global challenges.

The expansion of the international market was also decisive, with China consolidating its position as the main destination for Brazilian exports. The search for productive efficiency and the commitment to sustainability place Brazil in a strategic position in global trade, guaranteeing food, fiber and bioenergy for several countries. The competitiveness of Brazilian agribusiness reflects the sector’s capacity for adaptation and innovation, driving the country’s economic and social development.

The impact of this achievement goes beyond the numbers. The efforts of millions of Brazilian rural producers not only sustain domestic supply, but also contribute to global food security. The country stands out in the production of foods such as soybeans and meat, in the supply of fibers such as cotton and in the generation of bioenergy, representing more than 25% of the national energy matrix – even surpassing the sum of all hydroelectric plants.

“Brazilian rural producers remain committed to Brazil’s calling: to feed the world sustainably and competitively. This achievement is not just a number, but recognition of the efforts of millions of Brazilians who dedicate their lives, work and assets to producing,” he said.
